You can re-write your life at any TIME!!!

Mortgage crisis. Credit crunch. Slow job growth. Sluggish economy. Gas heading to $4 a gallon again. We don’t need to look far to see that these are tough times.

With so many challenges facing nearly everyone, it becomes easier to tell ourselves that things are beyond our control. The stories our brain manufactures build and build, and before you know it, discouragement can settle in, blocking us from seeing a vision beyond the obstacles.

Whether we realize it or not, we’re always telling ourselves a story, in good times or bad. The investor who makes millions on the stock market’s worst day creates a story of success before he even begins to apply the skills of his trade. The middle manager who longs for a career in real estate—and does nothing about it—tells herself that there’s no point in trying because of the shaky market.

The only thing that keeps us from what we really want in life is the story we tell ourselves about why we can’t have it. Life will provide plenty of reasons to be fearful. What we need to do is learn how to play with fear. We can do this by taking a closer look at the stories we create in our minds.

Our stories become a filter for what we will experience. Regardless of what’s happening in our lives at the moment, we all weave narratives. We tell ourselves stories that explain where we’ve been and where we’re going; who we are and who we’re becoming.

It would be easy to presume that our life’s events dictate the stories that run our lives, but just like writers who make adjustments to their scripts, we can change our stories at any time, and we often do, for better or for worse. Sometimes these changes come from the external world—the stories that others tell about you that can either be true or false—or the stories that you selectively edit, tell others, and become a reflection of your identity in the world.

External stories can have a significant impact on how we play our roles, but it’s the
internal story that affects us even more. Whatever you keep telling yourself is the real indicator on how you will respond to life’s various scenes, and thus how your life will unfold. Imagine what you can do when you toss that old story of fear or failure to the recycling bin, and really focus on creating the story you want to develop.

We must remember that we have the power to make choices along the way. Regardless of the subject, the real question isn’t where the story is coming from, or whether or not it’s even true. The real question is:
What do you want to become? What story do you want to create for the future? It’s a decision we’re always making moment to moment.

Why continue replaying a story that produces fear and powerlessness when you—the writer, director, and producer of your life—can re-write the script at anytime? There’s no guarantee that you’ll get the Hollywood ending, but at the very least you can create new happenings for your character; new romance, new thrills, more action, more adventure; a conscious participant in the controlled chaos that is life. Re-write your story, see the changes in your life! Take some paper and a pencil and start now, just jot down what you want to become...and work towards it. If you don't know what you want out of life "how is it going to happen"?

Half of Small Businesses Don't Have a Website

Businesses Don't Have a Website

That is not a joke headline. It blows my mind, but last year, an Ad-ology study found, 46 percent of small businesses surveyed said they did not have a website.

What are they waiting for?

Granted, the number of small businesses with websites took a jump in the past two years, from 33 percent to 45 percent, a Discover study showed. How many more small businesses will join them this year? It's unclear.

In the Discover study, 46 percent of respondents said it's a myth that every company needs a website. And they're right--companies that don't want to be successful certainly shouldn't spend the time and money to develop a company site. So every company
 doesn't need one.

Yes, you can still be found in online phone directories and on Google maps and such, without a company site. But is that impressing prospects? Does your company have LinkedIn or Facebook page, without a company site to link to? I'm doubtful.

It's possible many of these skeptics plan to cave in and put up a website this year. A
VistaPrint Small Business Survey last year showed 32 percent of small-business owners surveyed said they would work on Web development if they had more time or more money to devote to it. Perhaps as business improves, we'll see more sites sprout.

The no-website attitude reminds me of a prospective copywriting client I interviewed recently. He was dying to hire me to write content for his website--as soon as he landed his first client. How would he do that without the site to sell the company's services? He wouldn't--I've never heard back from him.

If you're on the fence about having a website, I have one question for you: How many big, successful companies don't have a website? I'm betting none. That's because a company website is just a basic, must-have marketing tool for the 21st Century.

Even better, online it's a level playing field for small business. You can make your company look just as good as bigger competitors, for very little money. Why would you pass up that chance?

If you don't have a company website, weigh in here. Why don't you have one? Do you have plans to get one in 2010? Do you believe small businesses don't need websites? How do customers find you online, or do you not get customers through the internet? Leave a comment and let us know.

Beautiful and so true...

As we look not back nor forward, but deep within,we see a light that is greater than the darkness of the world,a hope that surpasses the understanding of the world, and a love that is greater than the hatred in the world. We shall follow that light through the bird canal toward humanity's rebirth. While our labor is long and in some ways hard,we are being born to something huge and precious. A Secret Scrolls Message

The Secret

"How do I stop my negative thoughts?”  - is a question that I have been asked many times.  If you have ever asked this question then you will feel such enormous relief in knowing the answer, because it is so simple.  How do you stop negative thoughts?  You plant good thoughts!
When you try to stop negative thoughts, you are focusing on what you don't want - negative thoughts - and you will attract an abundance of them.  They can never disappear if you are focused on them.  The "stop" part is irrelevant - the negative thoughts are your focus.  It doesn't matter if you are trying to stop negative thoughts or control them or push them away, the result is the same.  Your focus is on negative thoughts, and by the law of attraction you are inviting more of them to you.
The truth is always simple and it is always easy.  To stop negative thoughts, just plant good thoughts!  Deliberately plant good thoughts!  You plant good thoughts by making it a daily practice to appreciate all the things in your day.  Appreciate your health, your car, your home, your family, your job, your friends, your surroundings, your meals, your pets, and the magnificent beauty of the day.  Compliment, praise, and give thanks to all things.  Every time you say "Thank you" it is a good thought!  As you plant more and more good thoughts, the negative thoughts will be wiped out.  Why?  Because your focus is on good thoughts, and what you focus on you attract.
So don't give any attention to negative thoughts.  Don't worry about them.  If any come, make light of them, shrug them off, and let them be your reminder to deliberately think more good thoughts now.
The more good thoughts you can plant in a day, the faster your life will be utterly transformed into all good.  If you spend only one day speaking of good things and saying "Thank you" at every single opportunity, you will not believe your tomorrow.  Deliberately thinking good thoughts is exactly like planting seeds.  As you think good thoughts you are planting good seeds inside you, and the Universe will transform those seeds into a garden of paradise.  How will the garden of paradise appear?  As your life!

May the joy be with you?

Another Year To Live!

To banish worry, doubt, and fear,

To love and laugh and give!

This bright new year is given me
To live each day with zest . . .
To daily grow and try to be
My highest and my best!
I have the opportunity
Once more to right some wrongs,
To pray for peace, to plant a tree,
And sing more joyful songs!”~William Arthur Ward~
